With just 27 rooms spread across the main house and nine separate cottages, the hotel feels wonderfully private. Each listed building is impeccably furnished in the same style, with fresh white walls, shades of pastel pink and an eclectic mix of furniture; think ultra-minimal black bedside tables juxtaposed with restored antiques belonging to the manor house, plush velvet armchairs and chunky coffee tables carved from a single tree trunk.
Well-placed accessories, from throws to patterned rugs and framed prints, complete the look without being too cluttered, and a handful of rooms still have their original, albeit non-working, huge stone fireplace as an impressive centrepiece.
Four rooms can be found in the main house, and while some cottages are split into two separate rooms (one downstairs, one upstairs), three are completely private if you want the space all to yourself. Upgrading from double to a suite will also get you a lounge area, and some rooms enjoy a small outdoor terrace with table and chairs.
Bathrooms are as comfortably decorated as the rooms, with huge walk-in showers, monochrome décor combining bright white tiles with black-rimmed mirrors, and honey-rich toiletries courtesy of French brand Nuxe. Only two rooms in the house and one cottage have a bath. In each room you’ll also find a television, a minibar, a kettle and coffee machine, and complimentary water.
