Deontay Wilder's trainer, Malik Scott, has praised Tyson Fury, one of Wilder's biggest rivals, acknowledging his exceptional skills.
Despite Wilder's epic trilogy with Fury, in which he knocked Fury down four times but failed to secure a knockout, Scott described Fury as "special." However, he maintained his belief that Wilder would defeat Fury if they were to have a fourth encounter.
"Even though I thought Deontay would knock Fury out - and I still do, if they fought a fourth time - I always said that Fury is special," Scott told talkSPORT.
"I'm not one of these trainers who is detached from the reality of the opposition we're facing. I think that's what gives you an advantage, you have to know who you're facing, be humble and have tonnes of humility."
A fourth fight between Wilder and Fury appears unlikely in the near future. There is hope that Fury will face unified world champion Oleksandr Usyk in a historic undisputed fight within the next six months.
Meanwhile, Wilder has been linked to a showdown with Fury's fellow countryman Anthony Joshua. Despite ongoing talks in 2023 about both fights, they have proven challenging to finalize, leading to frustration among observers of the heavyweight division.
